In the NASA The Space Adventure exhibitionwhat can you see in Madrid until July 22, 2012, you can discover, above all, how was the adventure of the conquest of the moon carried out by NASA with its Apollo program.

This exposition I have had the opportunity to visit recently, it is ideal for young people who have not been able to live how this space adventure was carried out that, remember, took place in the late 60s and early 70s.

When you visit the NASA The Space Adventure exhibition, at Hall XII of the Casa de Campo de Madrid, you will verify that it is presented in a very didactic way, so that you will be able to know the history of this space adventure, and discover curious details of it.

In the exhibition you will see over 300 objects actually used in the space project, as well as life-size replicas of spaceships and models of them.

I detail below how is the visit of the NASA exhibition The Space Adventure.

When entering it, the first thing you should do is take the audio guide which will lead you through the exhibition, and whose use is included in the ticket price.

At audio guide You will find an introduction to each of the thematic areas presented in the different rooms of the exhibition. You also have explanations of almost all the subjects and exhibits, which you often have to follow with videos and complementary photos that appear on the audio guide screen.

The exhibition is accessed by a metal walkway, a replica of the one used by astronauts when climbing to the Apollo ships.

In the first room you find photos and information about dreamers who in their day thought about the possibility of going to the moon, as Leonardo da Vinci. And also a video with movie scenes The Journey to the Moon made in 1902 by George Melies.

In the section dedicated to pioneers of space adventure, you find photos and information of the Russian astronaut Yuri gagarin and the american Alan Shepardas well as a replica of the first spaceshipthe soviet Sputnik, and images of the president’s famous speech Kennedy announcing the purpose of reaching the moon.

In the next room the astronauts are the great protagonists. You can see astronaut costumes of the different NASA space programs, as Mercury, Gemini and Apollo, where you will see how they are gaining in complexity.

You will also know how the astronauts ate, or discover the history of the first female astronauts.

The life-size replicas of the Mercury ship, from the lunar module of the Apollo spacecraft and the lunar Rover, they will allow you to see what the first spacecraft were like.

In the next two rooms you will approach the large spaceships. At the outset, a replica of the Gémini ship, but above all you will have the opportunity to meet the great rocket saturn, the shuttle of the Apollo ships towards the Moon.

Through large models, photos and videos, you will understand how this great rocket worked, and how it was deployed in phases until launching towards the Moon to the Apollo ship.

And, likewise, you will be able to see the different options that were once studied to descend to the Moon, and how the Apollo ship finally carried out.

You will also know the space shuttle program, with a model of the Atlantis ship, where you will see that they now have a much higher level of comfort compared to the first spacecraft.

Finally, the exhibition ends with models, photos and information panels on the current and future NASA projects, As the Hubble Space Telescope, the conquest of Mars or the International Space Station.

It is, in short, a very didactic exhibition, ideal to go with young people and children already of a certain age.
