The Sorolla and United States exhibition tries to reflect the link that the Valencian artist had with that country, especially between 1909 and 1911.

This relationship began with an exhibition in the Hispanic and American Society from New York, when Joaquin Sorolla He was already a very prestigious artist in Europe. The patron Milton Huntington He discovered his work at an exhibition in London in 1908.

This millionaire lover of Spanish culture had founded his own museum, the aforementioned Hispanic Society, and the retrospective exhibition of Sorolla it was a success. It was later presented in other North American cities, such as Buffalo, Boston, Chicago and St. Louis.

This led him to make an important commission to Sorolla, his great work the Vision of Spain, with the succession of panels of a total of 70 meters in length that currently can be seen in the aforementioned New York Hispanic Society.

Precisely the visit of this museum was one of the stages of my recent trip to New York, with the aim of discovering said Sorolla's great work that he did not know yet, although a few years ago he was the protagonist of an important exhibition in the Prado Museum in Madrid.
